Hey Ho Let’s Go! On to new realities! What, like now, new realities? Yes, our festival motto for DAVE 2022 is “New Realities”.
What do you associate with our motto? What are the “New Realities” for you? Whether in music, in the club, in the tram, among friends or at the bakery, what comes to your mind? What would your mix sound like?
Try to channel your emotions to this year’s motto and let us hear it. Because this year we are once again looking for young, wild and creative DJ talents who want to compete with other participants in the DAVE DJ contest. It doesn’t matter how much experience you have in DJing. Beatmatching doesn’t have to be perfect, genre boundaries don’t interest us – we love diversity and above all want to hear interesting music!
An independent jury consisting of the DAVE team and representatives of Dresden’s crews and club scene will choose the three best DJ sets from all the entries. All applications will be anonymised by the DAVE organisation team and uploaded to SoundCloud for voting by the jury. Each jury member will choose three favourites, which will be weighted in the overall vote.
The winners will be invited to the opening of the festival on 07.10.2022 @ „Kleines Haus“ of the Staatsschauspiels Dresden and announced and rewarded with prizes worth 100 euros each. In addition, the winners will have the chance to perform at the DJ contest winners’ party at the “Koralle” club on 14.10.2022. We will also give you the opportunity to create a podcast for DAVE. We look forward to your submissions and are excited about your creations!
The Hard Facts
The application must include the artist’s name, full first and last name, a short Story about you and an email address.
The audio file should be named as follows: dave-dj-contest-2022_artist_name.
The set should be in mp3 format and between 45 and 60 minutes long.
The DJ set must be available to us as a download.

The prizes for the winners of the DJ Contest 2022 will be provided by Musikhaus Korn, THE SPOT Dresden – Contemporary Apparel for Women and Men and our favourite record shop Fat Fenders.
