Das Festival für Clubkultur gibt es 2024 gleich doppelt. Der erste Teil findet schon bald statt: vom 25. bis zum 28. April.

Aus eins mach zwei. Nach dem zehnjährigen Jubiläum im letzten Jahr und der erstmaligen Konzentration des Programms in einer Location steht für DAVE 2024 schon wieder eine Neuerung an, denn das Festival findet gleich zweimal statt. Nachdem schon 2023 das Schwesternfestival WAVE und eine erste Annäherung an die Idee eines Ablegers im Frühjahr aus der Taufe gehoben wurde, hat sich das Team dafür entschieden, diesen Weg weiterzugehen. Aus zehn Tagen im Herbst werden deshalb jeweils vier Tage im Frühjahr und im Herbst: DAVE PART ONE vom 25. bis 28. April und DAVE PART TWO vom 3. bis 6. Oktober.

Programm wird demnächst veröffentlicht

Da die Finanzierung aufgrund von eingeplanten, aber fehlenden Förderzusagen leider lückenhaft ist, muss das Programm zumindest für den April etwas abgespeckt werden. Aber das Team macht aus der Not eine Tugend und stellt auch für DAVE PART ONE im Jahr 2024 ein Potpourri der Clubkultur-Verheißungen zusammen, nicht ohne den Blick für wichtige Debatten zu verlieren. Konzerte, Partys, Workshops, Filme und Diskussionen finden dabei auch 2024 wieder in den Lieblings-Locations der Dresdner Clubkultur statt. Aktuell bekommen die Planungen den letzten Feinschliff. DAVE Motto 2024: »Rhythm of Change«

Die Clubkultur ist ein dynamisches soziokulturelles Phänomen, das sich ständig wandelt und weiterentwickelt. Sie repräsentiert eine Plattform für kreative Selbstdarstellung, soziale Interaktion und kulturelle Innovation. Durch Veränderung bleibt sie relevant und vielfältig, integriert neue Ideen, Technologien und Kunstformen. Historisch gesehen reflektiert sie gesellschaftliche Veränderungen und schafft Räume für soziale Diskussionen. Dabei erweitert die Digitalisierung ihre Reichweite und verbindet ein globales Publikum. Die Clubkultur ist daher systemrelevant für kulturellen Wandel und persönliche Entfaltung. Das Motto des Festivaljahrgangs »Rhythm of Change« unterstreicht den Wandel und die Anpassungsfähigkeit der Clubkultur. Das diesjährige Artwork von den Dresdner Grafiker*innen und DAVE-Alumnis Janett Hanitzsch und Rico Schumann orientiert sich an diesen Mechanismen. Die Bildsprache führt die grundlegenden Prinzipien des Vorjahrs fort, setzt aber auch neue Akzente.

There will be two club culture festivals in 2024. The first part will take place soon: from April 25 to 28.

Make two out of one. After celebrating its tenth anniversary last year and concentrating the program in one location for the first time, DAVE 2024 is set for another innovation, as the festival will take place twice. After the sister festival WAVE and an initial approach to the idea of an offshoot were launched in spring 2023, the team has decided to continue along this path. Ten days in the fall will therefore become four days each in the spring and fall: DAVE PART ONE from April 25 to 28 and DAVE PART TWO from October 3 to 6.

Program to be published soon

As funding is unfortunately patchy due to planned but missing funding commitments, the program will have to be scaled back somewhat, at least for April. But the team is making a virtue of necessity and is also putting together a potpourri of club culture promises for DAVE PART ONE in 2024, without losing sight of important debates. Concerts, parties, workshops, films and discussions will once again take place in the favorite locations of Dresden’s club culture in 2024. The plans are currently being fine-tuned. DAVE motto 2024: „Rhythm of Change“

Club culture is a dynamic socio-cultural phenomenon that is constantly changing and evolving. It represents a platform for creative self-expression, social interaction and cultural innovation. Through change, it remains relevant and diverse, integrating new ideas, technologies and art forms. Historically, it reflects social change and creates spaces for social discussion. At the same time, digitalization expands its reach and connects a global audience. Club culture is therefore systemically relevant for cultural change and personal development. The motto of this year’s festival, „Rhythm of Change“, emphasizes the change and adaptability of club culture. This year’s artwork by Dresden-based graphic designers and DAVE alumni Janett Hanitzsch and Rico Schumann is based on these mechanisms. The visual language continues the basic principles of the previous year, but also sets new accents.
