A true-to-style seating set amidst an imaginary photo wallpaper landscape featuring VHS art and fanzines for relaxed browsing is complemented by an exhibition that reveals art and objects as icons of a completely new independent and internet-affine movement which indeed is difficult to classify and describe conventionally.
That’s why we take the educational mandate for this event very seriously – to clean up prejudices, fakes, and transfiguration (what the fuck is vaporwave?), there will also be a lecture on scientific aspects of the genre by Carlo Bonanza.
Even more – a sampling station makes it possible for visitors to create vaporwave themselves without any prior technical knowledge, a mini old school videogame provides distraction at the bar and because that’s not enough, we offer guests a Game Boy camera selfie service to take home 8-bit b/w selfies on thermal paper as a reminder of their experience at the pavillon.
So come in, let yourself be stimulated and inspired by the pastel sounds of DJs, fluorescent video projections, carefully curated showcases and picture galleries.
Experience all that vaporwave stands for – a pseudo-utopian vision of the future of society, born out of the dreams of a young global community whose multimedia memories of the times of TV, 56K modems and Sega consoles will give us an amazingly fresh yet reflective look at our present and future.
