DAVE Festival 2017: Transgressionen

DAVE Festival 2017: Transgressionen

Transgressionen – Träume haben keine Grenzen. Die Realität hingegen schon. Oft hindern die Grenzen am Weiterkommen. Denn wer verlässt schon gern gewohntes Terrain oder eingetretene Denkpfade? Wer betritt schon gern unbekannte Räume?

DAVE will genau das tun. DAVE will diese Grenze permanent überschreiten.

Dreams have no limits, but reality does. And often these limits prevent progress. After all, who likes to leave familiar terrain or established ways of thinking? Who likes to enter unknown spheres?

DAVE wants to do just that. The theme of this year’s festival is „Transgressionen“, which refers to one of the festival’s basic ideas: the intention to establish an audio-visual festival in a city that often appears as a divided urban space in terms of interior and exterior perception. On one hand, you have the old town as a classical-baroque space, and on the other, there is the new town as a subcultural, juvenile space. And the Elbe river marks the symbolic cultural frontier, cemented in the minds of its inhabitants.

DAVE wants to permanently exceed this. Letting the theatre doing their dance in the club, while at the same time museum and theatre rumble like a club, shaken with bass heavy audiovisual shows… why not? But DAVE also wants to exceed/overcome borders in the head, for example by attracting more attention to booking female artists.
We have the dream that Dresden, with all its diversity, will become a continuum in which the different cultures meet and acknowledge each other at eye level.

Have fun with DAVE, today and in the future!
